Bar Brasil Estocolmo är ingen befintlig ”bar” utan vi är ett eventföretag som driver en mobil klubb-, konsert och eventverksamhet i centrala Stockholm. Klubben grundades 1993 och har fram till 2025 arrangerat drygt 300 konserter varav många med internationella världsstjärnor samt runt cirka 500 klubbkvällar med DJ:s,

THE BAR BRASIL STORY

The Bar Brasil story begins with the World Cup in 1970.

Johan von Friedrichs, then eight years old, becomes totally fascinated by Brazilian soccer. Later on, Brazilian music and culture also capture his heart. After his first trip to Brazil, and the encounter with the generous and open-minded people there, he was hooked.

Johan met the Brazilian singer Dalila [dalila.se] in Stockholm 1988, and she became a great source of inspiration for him with her deep knowledge of Brazilian music.

In 1993, the club concept Bar Brazil Estocolmo was founded (with friend Johan Wikström). The idea was simple: let’s introduce Brazilian music and the artists we listen to daily when we are in Brazil to the Swedish audience. At this time Swedish media, radio and night clubs almost never played Brazilian music.

After 30 years the party is still going on! Bar Brasil has arranged around 300 concerts with live music, including many international artist, and more than 500 club evenings with DJ:s. Many thanks to our coworker and resident DJ, Wesley dos Santos, for his support all these years.

Things have changed over these past thirty years. Nowadays, the numbers of Brazilians living in Sweden has increased tenfold, and there are many more Brazilian cultural events available. I hope we have been, and will continue to be an inspiration for all of you who love Brazilian music, the carnival tradition and Brazilian culture. Bola pra frente … e mais 30 anos de glória!
